B737-800 Values Pass the Peak

September 24, 2012

The market for the B737-800 is still strong; the strongest for any narrowbody at the present time, but values and lease rates have already fallen establishing a trend rather than a temporary departure. Lease rentals of the B737-800 have declined such that rates of nearly $400,000 per month are a feature of the past. The sustained reduction in interest rates, competitive environment among lessors, the lower lease rentals of the A320, and the availability of older -800s has made it necessary for lease rates to reduce.
