The market for the E190 is likely to prove more difficult in the coming years as it appears that a number will be coming onto the market.
On behalf of Air Canada, Skyworks Leasing has arranged the sale of 25 E190 aircraft to Beautech Power Systems. Air Canada is gradually phasing out the type and the aircraft were leased back on short-term leases. The first aircraft were redelivered in September 2018 and the last will be retired in June 2020. Beautech is noted for engine leasing, asset trading and component sales. This suggests that the E190s could be marketed in an airworthy condition or parted out as the aircraft are retired by Air Canada. Other E190s are coming onto the market as the product line transitions to the E190E2. The market for regional jets is not as robust as it once was and buyers of used regional jets always seem to want a bargain.
