
As the calendar turns into mid-January 2026, Boeing’s 777X remains a study in patience. Once positioned as a relatively swift successor to the hugely successful 777-300ER, the 777X is now officially not expected to complete certification until sometime in 2026, pushing entry into service into 2027. That places the program roughly seven years behind its original timeline, a delay that has become emblematic of Boeing’s wider struggles over the past decade.
