European-based Airbus cemented its position in January 2024 as the world’s largest airplane manufacturer for the fifth consecutive year, announcing that it had delivered more aircraft and secured more orders in 2023 than its American competitor Boeing. The global aviation market’s duopoly is increasingly lopsided in favor of Airbus.
