Aircraft Market Assessment

June 25, 2007

Market Presence. The age and heritage of the A300-600R are clearly evident when compared to newer types. Even the EFIS cockpit, a trademark of Airbus, fails to impress. However, except for newer examples of the same type or the similarly ageing specification of the B767-300, no replacement exists until the arrival of the B787. This suggests that where the type has proven itself capable of meeting the specific needs of a few carriers, then the aircraft could be retained for longer than might be expected and this trend is now in evidence.
