Aircraft Asset Assessment: B767-400

April 20, 2015

Market Presence. The B767-400 was not a success for Boeing and indeed the aircraft has become marginalized. With only two operators the aircraft is likely to remain with existing operators for some years to come. The values of the -400 have not performed well though they are largely theoretical given the concentrated operator base. The experience of the DC10-10 and B767-300 should give an indication of how values of the type will behave in the future once either of the current operators divest themselves of the fleet. However, in terms of performance the aircraft are providing good capacity for the existing operators over medium haul sector lengths. The Delta aircraft features three classes with Business Elite, Economy Comfort and Economy. Each seat offers VOD (Video on Demand). United also has a three class layout. The last time a list price was indicated for the -400 was in 2012.
